At Figr, we believe the world deserves better, intuitive, and visually engaging products, crafted through thoughtful iterations and user feedback. We're passionate problem solvers, dedicated to empowering anyone to design and build seamless, joyful software experiences.

Why we started?

The world can have better products

We have gone through multiple cycles of product design and development in our prior roles. An intuitive, user-friendly product that is visually appealing takes a lot of iterations. All the iterations driven by user feedback add up to the time and effort required to build a great product. Many do not go through this process and end up shipping a subpar product.

The world will be a better place if software solutions just work as intended and are a joy to use.

There is satisfaction in solving tough problems

Teaching a model how to design good products is a tough problem. Good design is highly subjective, and products are generally very complex. Software products have finer nuances, with multiple states, deep information architectures, and user journeys. It is not just about designing one disconnected UI screen but creating an interconnected experience that fulfils a goal.

Inherently, all of us at Figr are problem solvers. We love tackling tough problems.

Anyone should be able to build good products

Ideation and then design are the initial steps of the product building process. Developing it and making it fully functional requires diverse range of skills. Getting it ready to be shipped to users demands craftsmanship.

In the coming years, Figr can go beyond design to developing products. We’d be proud to enable people make great products.

Why we exist?

Simpler design process

The first step of designing is quite fragmented - we talk to users, do competitor analysis, create a moodboard, do white boarding. There is no one place where you can start your design journey to bounce off ideas. Products with effortless and intuitive user experience are often rare. The current design process can take weeks or even months to complete for a simple app.

We want to make the design process simpler.

Helping people design better products

Product designers bring in a unique blend of creativity and analytical problem solving ability. They are the ones who design our digital world. Much of a product designer’s day is spent on routine tasks—tweaking pixels, navigating feedback, and refining details—keeping them from the imaginative work they’re passionate about. With Figr, designers can focus on the creative work that they love—while we take up the mundane.

Create meaningful experiences

Design often sits quietly in the background, yet it shapes every touchpoint of a product, making it not just functional but delightful. Thoughtful design breathes life into a product, changing it from just a tool into an experience that resonates with people’s hearts.

We want to inspire people to build well-designed user centric products.

Who are we building for?

Makers

We realised that Figr isn’t just for designers. We’re building Figr for the “makers”—people who have great ideas and can see the potential of a product but may not have all the skills to build it. As roles blend, we see designers, developers, and product managers coming together as one.

With Figr, we’ll help make this shift happen.

How we evolved over time?

Design Research

The first step in building any product is understanding what to create. Once you have a clear sense of the problem space and the core benefits your product can offer, there are countless ways the product’s UX can take shape. This often leads to a cold start problem. We started with solving a small part of this problem by providing editable and searchable real-world inspirations of well-designed apps. It gives designers a good starting point so they don’t have to begin from a blank canvas.

Atomic Design Theory

We deeply resound with the atomic design theory.

In this approach, tiny UI components (buttons, input fields, badges) , or “atoms,” combine in various ways to form molecules. These molecules and atoms then join to create larger, more complex UI components, known as organisms. We’ve even taken it a step further by adding a new dimension to these components with hundreds of styles in many design language.

Arrays of experiments

To break down UI screens and understand the interactions between them, we’ve built several internal tools. One of these tools allows users to restyle any component and build design languages with just a few clicks, which we launched it as a Figma Community plugin.

To address the cold start problem, we developed Figr AI, a tool that deeply understands your design intent to generate the first draft of an interface. Currently in private beta, Figr AI will be publicly available soon.

What now?

While we’re building Figr for all makers, we’re starting by focusing on designers and design teams. Our goal is to remove the inefficiencies in their workflows, making the design process faster and smoother. By helping designers work more efficiently, we aim to enable them to build better products without the usual hassle.

Figr Identity enables designers and teams to quickly build scalable production-grade design systems. You can style your components in any style, quickly create/export design tokens in Figma and setup a brand guideline. Try Figr Identity ↗️

What is the future we see?

We see makers — not just designers, developers, or product managers. We see people with ideas, building without limits, turning their vision into reality. We envision a future without traditional role boundaries, where anyone with passion can create freely.

Thirty years ago, building a simple static website required a big team, writing code from scratch, and limited tools, often taking months. Today, that same website can be built in days by one person. We believe building fully-functional web and mobile apps will follow a similar shift. Right now, building an app still takes weeks, specialized skills, and complex processes. With Figr, we want to bring down that time.

In the future, we envision a world where creating products is accessible to everyone, not limited by technical skills or barriers. Makers will be able to build faster and achieve more, anyone can make an impact by building and shipping great products.
